World -famous Physicist
He was professor of Calcutta University. One of the presidents of Indian Science Congress and a member of National Planning Committee, Dr. Saha, was attached to many research institute of the country. His elementary contributions in physics are well known. He wrote many science and academic books. He took a significant role in National Economic Plan and political activities.Independent India has many other expectations from him. But the hope was not fulfilled owing to his untimely demise. At the time of his death he was a member of the Parliament.

Death anniversary of Dr. Meghnad Saha will be observed in a befitting manner on 16 February, 2010 at Keoratala at 10 a.m. Wreath placing will be arranged on behalf of State Government. Apart from Govt. officials, other persons will also pay their homage on the occasion.
